Mortgage rates dropped to the lowest level since Jan. 25, with the average 30-year fixed rate now 6.24 percent. According to Bankrate.com's weekly national survey of large lenders, the 30-year fixed rate mortgages had an average of 0.32 discount and origination points.

Airports across the world are gearing up to accommodate the entry of the Airbus A380 in 2007 by investing billions of dollars in facilities enlargement. However, the investments related to the A380 comprise only a small part of the total master plan spending aimed at meeting the requirements of increasing air traffic. Nearly 60 airports in the world will be able to accommodate the jet by 2010, although the actual operations of the A380 will itself be limited to between 40 - 50 airports.

Need a little extra spending money for the holidays? Twenty-three percent of hiring managers say they are recruiting for holiday positions, according to a recent CareerBuilder.com survey. Nearly one-in-four expect to pay their seasonal hires more than last year, with 37 percent offering $10 or more per hour. The CareerBuilder.com survey, "Holiday Jobs," was completed in September and included 1,150 hiring managers nationwide.
