In April 2010 compared with March 2010, the euro area (EA16) industrial new orders index rose by 0.9%. In March the index increased by 5.1%. In the EU27, new orders decreased by 0.2% in April 2010, after a rise of 7.1% in March. Excluding ships, railway & aerospace equipment, for which changes tend to be more volatile, industrial new orders grew by 1.1% in the euro area and by 0.9% in the EU27.

PriceGrabber.com®, a part of Experian, just released the results of its Back to School Shopping Forecast survey, which includes responses from 1,718 online consumers and was conducted between May 12 and June 1, 2010. Survey data reveals that many consumers do not plan to save for back-to-school shopping this year but are starting their shopping early and spending the same amount as they did last year.

McAfee, Inc., the world's largest dedicated security company, commissioned and released "The Secret Life of Teens," a survey conducted online by Harris Interactive from May 4-May 17, 2010. The study surveyed 955 U.S. 13-17 year olds (including 593 teens ages 13-15 and 362 teens aged 16-17) and reveals the online behavior of American teens and areas of concern for parents. Results were weighted as needed for age, gender, race/ethnicity, and other key variables.
