Standard & Poor's today announced the November results for the S&P/GRA Commercial Real Estate Indices. The indices measure the change in commercial real estate prices by property sector and geographic region in the United States. The S&P/GRA Commercial Real Estate Indices comprise ten commercial real estate indices: a national composite, five geographic regions, and four national property sectors.

Global Investor Confidence rose by 3.5 points from a revised January level of 69.5 to reach 73.0. Amongst North American investors, confidence rose 6.0 points from 72.2 to 78.2, but elsewhere, risk appetite was more muted, with European investor confidence falling from 85.8 to 83.7, and Asian investor confidence treading water barely rising from 85.4 to 85.7.

The uncertain economy may be hitting home with Americans, as they continue to lose confidence in their personal level of financial security. The COUNTRY Financial Security Index recorded its second consecutive decline, slipping .3 points in February to 68.5. The drop is due to heightened concerns about short-term finances.

In the construction sector, seasonally adjusted production fell by 0.6% in the euro area (EA13) and by 0.7% in the EU27 in December 2007 compared with the previous month. In November, production decreased by 1.0% in the euro area and by 0.5% in the EU27. Compared with December 2006, output in December 2007 declined by 3.3% in the euro area and by 4.0% in the EU27. Compared with 2006, the average construction output for 2007 increased by 3.7% in the euro area and by 3.9% in the EU27.
