The Florida Employee Confidence Index dropped 8.5 points to 48.5 in December, the lowest level seen in the history of this survey, according to the latest Spherion(R) Employment Report. The monthly survey of Florida workers, conducted by Harris Interactive(R) on behalf of Spherion Corporation, indicates that more workers are pessimistic about the economy, the job market and their ability to find a new job. While workers are less confident in their ability to find a job, more say they are likely to look for a new job in the next twelve months.

The California Employee Confidence Index dropped 2.5 points to 50.3 in December, the lowest level seen in the history of this survey, according to the latest Spherion(R) Employment Report. This month's survey of California workers, conducted by Harris Interactive(R) on behalf of Spherion Corporation, indicates that California workers are becoming increasingly less confident in the job market, economy and in their personal employment situation. Despite a drop in overall confidence, the survey revealed that California workers are more likely to search for new jobs in the next 12 months.

The Texas Employee Confidence Index fell 4.1 points to 52.9 in December, the lowest level seen in the history of this survey, according to the latest Spherion(R) Employment Report. The monthly survey of Texas workers, conducted by Harris Interactive(R) on behalf of Spherion Corporation, showed that while fewer workers believe the economy is getting stronger and are confident in the future of their current employer, a greater number believe that more jobs are available. In addition, more workers are likely to look for a new job in the next 12 months.
