RealtyTrac(R) released its June 2007 U.S. Foreclosure Market Report, which shows a total of 164,644 foreclosure filings - default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions - were reported during the month, down 7 percent from the previous month but still up 87 percent from June 2006. The report also shows a national foreclosure rate of one foreclosure filing for every 704 U.S. households for the month.

Spending on and by teenagers will reach $208.7 billion in 2011, up from $189.7 billion in 2006, according to Packaged Facts' "The Teens Market in the US" report. The spending increase is expected despite an estimated 3% decline in the 12-to-17-year-old population by 2011.

The 10 members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) bound by the group's crude oil output agreements boosted production by 40,000 barrels per day (b/d) to 26.6 million b/d in June, from a revised May level of 26.56 million b/d, a Platts survey showed July 11. This is well above the 25.8 million b/d production target set in February by the so-called OPEC-10.

The new regulation on transboundary shipments of waste aims to ensure that waste is properly handled from the time it is shipped to the time it is disposed of or recovered at destination. To achieve its objectives the regulation reinforces and clarifies the current legal framework for waste shipment within the EU and with non-EU countries. The regulation – which was adopted last year but applies only as of 12 July 2007 – also bans the export of hazardous waste or waste for disposal to certain countries.

comScore released a study of global Internet traffic for the month of May, revealing the latest worldwide rankings of top Web properties from the comScore World Metrix service. There were 772 million people online worldwide in May (defined as those individuals age 15 or older who accessed the Internet from a home or work location in the last 30 days), an increase from 766 million in April, representing a 16 percent penetration of the worldwide population of individuals age 15 or older.

Seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 0.9% in the euro area (EA13) in May 2007 compared with April 2007. Production fell by 0.7% in April and grew by 0.6% in March. In the EU27 output rose by 0.7% in May, after a decrease of 0.4% in April and an increase of 0.5% in March. In May 2007 compared with May 2006, industrial production rose by 2.5% in the euro area and by 2.7% in the EU27.
