91% of Organizations Perceive Cybercrime as a Major Business Risk

Finjan Inc. announced the findings of its Web security survey of 1387 IT/Security professionals conducted during July 2008. The results reveal that an overwhelming number of respondents perceive cybercrime as a major business risk, specifically the possibility of their sensitive information such as customer, patient, and employee data being stolen by crimeware.

Fitch Ratings said that the Taiwanese economy had become much more open in recent years, and considerably more exposed to economic conditions in China. Industrial production and exports are both on a slowing trend and the agency expects GDP growth rate for Taiwan to be 4.3% this year, down from 5.7% in 2007.

In July 2008 compared with June 2008, seasonally adjusted industrial production fell by 0.3% in both the euro area (EA15) and the EU27. In June production decreased by 0.2% in both zones. In July 2008 compared with July 2007, industrial production declined by 1.7% in the euro area and by 1.3% in the EU27.
